2010 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
In accordance with the agreement reached at the 2009 AGM, Canberra Branch will host the 2010 AGM of this Association on Tuesday 7th September 2010 at Southern Cross (Wests) Club in Bowman Street Jamison ACT commencing at 11:00 AM. You are invited to nominate two delegates to represent your Branch. Visiting members &/or Associates are welcome.
Enclosed is a draft Agenda for the Meeting, together with a Questionnaire, and an Event detail sheet. It is most important that the Questionnaire is returned promptly so that planning for the proposed events can be arranged.
Of particular importance is the situation regarding invitees to the Parliamentary Reception. The Association is limited to 14 Invitees (who must be National Servicemen), and their Guests. A Guest can be a Spouse, Partner or another National Serviceman! Department of Veterans Affairs will issue invitations, and the Security passes. Accordingly the full Name and Address, of each Invitee, and his Guest, are required by the National Secretary, by 1st June 2010, in order that we can meet the deadline set by the Department of Veteran Affairs.
A suggested break up of Invitees is - National Executive - One,
- Newcastle, Nelson Bay, Canberra - Two each,
- Maitland, and Lower Hunter - One each plus one shared (Branches to decide),
- Leeton, Griffith, and Hay – One each plus one shared (Branches to decide).
Each Branch is invited to nominate a reserve Invitee and Guest, in case cancellations occur.
Notices of Motion:
Please submit Notices of Motion covering Policy changes by 15 June 2010, to allow circulation to all Branches with the 42 days notice required by the motion agreed to at the 2008 AGM.
Branch Reports:
Please provide 20 copies of your Branch report at the meeting. This will allow each branch delegate a copy, for presentation at their next local meeting, thereby informing their members, of other Branch’s activities. Each Branch will be able to read out their Report.
As agreed at the 2006 AGM, the change of National Office holders every two years is not mandatory. A Branch may nominate to undertake the management role, should they so desire.

Secretary
